Headteacher's Welcome

It is with great pleasure that we welcome you and your child to St John’s Church School.

At St John’s we believe our most important role is to teach children to be the best they can be, celebrating their individuality and talents in our inclusive and vibrant school. We aim to give children a love of reading, a thirst for learning, resilience and a curriculum that helps to equip them for a successful future. We have a successful and happy school that is held in high regard in the local community, our children enjoy learning and are happy and secure in school. We have 7 classes with 30 children in each class, with a range of teachers and support staff who help children learn. We are a school with strong links with the local community and church who work with us to provide a stimulating environment.

Our Staff and Governors believe in our school vision which is based on the Christian belief that we come this way only once, we believe we should pave children’s pathways with quality learning experiences, this drives our curriculum in school. Our Christian ethos ensures that our children are taught to be thoughtful and generous towards others. Our core values of love, respect, friendship, honesty and forgiveness are threaded through our curriculum and used to support behaviour in school.

At St John’s we aim to work with parents and value the support you give school to help your child’s learning and development. Over the coming years there will be lots of opportunities to be involved in school life and be part of our school family. Your continued interest in your child’s education is the key to your child making progress. During the year there will be opportunities for you to visit school through celebration assemblies, church services, stay and play sessions, parent’s evenings and many more events where families are welcome to join us.
